Explosion Families Call in Disaster Law Experts Over Compensation
June 8, 2004
Relatives of the victims killed or injured in the Stockline Plastics explosion in Glasgow last month are now seeking legal advice in a bid to get compensation for their loss.
Several families have approached Glasgow-based law firm Levy & McRae which has represented victims in disaster cases such as Piper Alpha, Lockerbie, Dunblane, and the Chinook Helicopter Crash in Argyll.
Senior Partner Peter Watson said today: “We have been approached by some of the victims and their families and we have set up a specialist team who are very experienced in helping in cases like this. We have extensive experience in this sort of case.”
The families face a long haul with the prospect of a Fatal Accident Inquiry and wrangles with insurance companies.
Mr Watson said those seeking help or advice would be offered assistance without having to pay fees and added: “This is another David v Goliath battle and our job is to make sure David wins.”
